Prior to joining Phuoc & Partners in September 2010, Ms. Thu worked at the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of Gide Loyrette Nouel as an Attorney at Law from January 2009 to September 2010. Previously, from May 2003 to September 2008, Lawyer Thu was a Senior Associate at Vision & Associates Legal; from May 2001 to April 2003, Lawyer Thu was a Legal counsel for H&M Consulting. Lawyer Thu has also worked as a Legal Director for Diageo Vietnam for 6 months to provide internal legal advisory services and advise on legal matters related to day-to-day business operations.
With nearly 17 years of legal practice experience, Lawyer Thu has assisted domestic companies and multi-national companies in matters related to enterprises, foreign investment in Vietnam, Mergers & Acquisitions, Transfer of Equity and Trade.
Lawyer Thu has a great deal of experience especially in the field of labour and employment. Lawyer Thu has advised on various legal issues related to trade unions, labour and employment, including the prosecution of labour law in Vietnam and foreign workers in Vietnam, policy and practice on employment; structure of labour resources; issues affecting labour and employment in M & A activities; renting, subletting, and firing. Lawyer Thu has advised and assisted foreign-invested enterprises in managing employees more effectively, providing legal and practical solutions for enterprises to solve problems, advice, plans and supporting enterprises to implement organizational changes affecting hundreds of employees.
Lawyer Thu also regularly advises on day-to-day business operations and direct training in labour law and employment for well-known companies in Vietnam.
Lawyer Thu has given many legal professional training courses organized by the Vietnam Union of Lawyers and the Ministry of Justice. Ms. Thu is also a key speaker at many workshops on labour legislation of VNHR (Vietnam Human Resources Association).
