Prior to serving as Senior Associate to Phuoc & Partners, Tran Ngoc Thuyet, Esq. has a twelve – year career in providing legal counsel and practicing law. His extensive experience included providing legal representation to corporations, non-profit organizations and firm clients; as practicing attorney with professional qualifications in the independent planning, management and representation of client legal matters before the Courts. He is an experienced legal counsel and in-house lawyer specialized in community outreach and legal advocacy, legal research and documentation and court proceedings. He is also an experienced lawyer on domestic and foreign investment, corporation, employment and immigration.
As a corporate lawyer and legal counsel on domestic and foreign investment, he worked for a series of companies such as Invest Consult Group, Leton Investment & Consultancy Group, Uni-Bros Group, Sai Gon Paragon Corporation and Viet Nhat JSC. He also worked as local consultant and legal counsel for Hassall & Associates International and Coffey International Ltd. (1999 – 2003) through Australian Agency of International Development (AusAID); and as Program Manager for World Vision International (2003) and ORBIS International (2006) in Ho Chi Minh City. From 2006, he opened and became the Managing Partner of Tran & Tran Associates Law Offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Central Vietnam.
Mr. Thuyet graduated in medicine with honor BS from Pasteur Medicine Institute (1983) and graduated in law with JD from Hanoi University of Law (1995). He studied in program management at Chulalongkorn University (1996) and jointed Vietnam – Belgium Master’s Degree in Developed Economics (2000 – 2002). He studied and researched in urban community organization and management at University of Philippines (2004). He has participated in many workshops and seminars on law, economics, public health and program management in Vietnam and abroad.
Mr. Thuyet became a qualified lawyer in 1998 and was lawyer memberships of Quang Nam Bar Association, Ho Chi Minh City Bar Associations and Vietnam Bar Federation. He was a Vice – President of Executive Committee of Quang Nam Bar Association from 2002 – 2007.
