Our Part I of this Legal Newsletter introduces a legal article titled “Do businesses needs criminal records?” written by our Partner, Mr. Tran Thanh Tung and Mr. Ngo Nhat Minh – Paralegal, issued in The Saigon Times on December 19th 2013. In this article, we analyze and discuss a number of issues related to the requirement that foreign individual investors must submit a copy of their criminal record when involve in capital contribution and share purchases of a Vietnamese owned company. Therefrom, we propose to timely exclude this document from requirements in the application for registering capital contribution and share purchases of foreign individual investors.

In Part II, we would like to provide you with some remarkable regulations as follows:

  1. Uniform guidance on the method of calculating the area of a condominium apartment.
  2. Guidance on penalizing administrative violations in the field of construction.
  3. Guidance on international goods trading activities and agent activities of buying, selling, processing and conducting goods transit with foreigners.
  4. Instruction for temporary import for re-export.
